Motion Design Package

Motion Design, Video Shooting, Video Editing, Logo Animation, Sound Design

This motion design package was created for the grand opening of the St. Lawrence Market’s new North Building. The concept blends the market’s rich heritage with its modern revitalization through elegant transitions, geometric motion, and hand-crafted visual effects. From logo reveals to historical slideshow templates, each animated element supports the event’s goals of community engagement, cultural celebration, and forward-looking innovation.

The Idea

Inspired by Bauhaus geometry and vintage aesthetics, the animation concept focuses on approachable curves, dynamic motion, and retro-modern visuals. The video footage was captured on-site to reflect the Market’s real-life energy and community feel. Each piece—from CTA animations to slideshow templates—was designed to reflect the Market’s values of quality, community, and innovation.

The Need

The objective was to deliver a cohesive, vibrant motion package that:

  • Communicates the Market’s fusion of tradition and modernity
  • Engages a wide audience from longtime locals to new visitors
  • Enhances the event experience through immersive and informative visuals
Design Strategy
  • Video Shoot & Editing: Captured and edited live footage to reflect the Market’s lively atmosphere and diverse community.
  • Logo Animation: Designed intro and outro animations blending the logo’s curves with modern motion elements.
  • Lower Thirds & Upper Quarters: Created clean, geometric templates for event information and speaker intros.
  • Transitions: Used modern transitions inspired by the iconic St. Lawrence Market logo shape to create a dynamic and engaging flow between video segments.
  • Slideshow Template: Developed animated slides to highlight the Market’s history, featuring elegant transitions and textures.
  • Call to Action: Designed eye-catching CTAs encouraging visitor engagement and attendance.
  • Sound Design: Paired footage and motion graphics with a rhythmic swing soundtrack—popular in Canada during the Market’s historical peak. The use of drums and hand claps enhances the welcoming atmosphere, echoing the lively spirit of the community.
